How to stop ChatGPT using your chats for training

On ChatGPT’s website, open your profile menu, choose Settings, then Data Controls. Switch off “Improve the model for everyone” if you want to opt out.

Your conversations can remain in your history after this change. Training, history, and memory are different controls; turning off one does not turn off everything.

For work accounts, follow your organization’s policies and the controls available for your plan. Check the official documentation for current details.
